Michael Burchett
Managing Director
Michael is a 50 year veteran of the hospitality industry. He spent 17 years of his career with Regent and Four Seasons in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, China, USA and Indonesia. He was the opening General Manager for Four Seasons Jimbaran & The Regent Jakarta.
Michael continued his career as Vice President Operations with Royal Garden Resorts in Thailand responsible for hotels and resorts in Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket and Vietnam under the Four Seasons, Marriott and Anantara brands.

In 2003 he returned to Bali to open Conrad Bali, where he spent 9 years establishing Conrad amongst Bali’s leading hotels. He established MJB Hoteliers in 2012, specializing in Hospitality Management Services. In addition to new-build and existing projects, MJB Hoteliers was contracted to set up and manage Mantra Group in Indonesia, now part of Accor. Since 2017 MJB Hoteliers remains actively involved in supporting Travel and Leisure Co across Asia Pacific.
Michael is an active participant in various professional Associations and is committed to supporting the community, “being privileged to live in Bali and travel through Indonesia has given me the opportunity to give something back to the community that has given me so much.”
He was instrumental in driving the recovery program for Bali during his four terms as Chairman of the Bali Hotels Association (BHA) 2004-2008 and remains an active Member of BHA; past Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association (PHRI); past President of Rotary Nusa Dua; and current Bailli Delegue Indonesia for Chaine des Rotisseurs.
Troy Sinclair
Advisor & Commissioner
Troy has amassed considerable international experience in the hospitality, banking and IT sectors in Australia, Europe and Indonesia.
Troy graduated from the University of Sunshine Coast in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Information Systems; further enhanced when he completed a Masters of Business Administration Hotel & Tourism Management in 2010 through the University of Southern Cross.

In 2004, in partnership with his father Alan Sinclair, Troy developed and opened Batu Karang Resort where Troy’s practical experience stems from the many years establishing this Boutique Resort as the leading property on Nusa Lembongan, commencing with conceptual design, project management, through opening in 2006, and as General Manager until 2012.
As Owner & Manager of Batu Karang Resort, Troy gained a unique insight into the relationship between ownership and management; and an understanding of the importance of the partnership that must exist between Owner and Manager to
ensure success. Troy is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, and his personal skills include competition level surfing and Jiu Jitsu.
Jane Burchett
Director – MJB Hoteliers & Director – Focus on Hospitality
Jane joined MJB Hoteliers in 2013 bringing with her over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. After spending several years working as a chef overseas, she returned home to Perth Western Australia and built a significant catering business servicing events that included Big Day Out Music Festival, Red Bull Air Race and others, in addition to many of Perth’s top society events.
Jane developed a diverse range of wholesale food items supplied to gourmet supermarkets & cafés in and around Perth; while also providing consulting and project management services to various hospitality venues in Perth.

After more than 15 years back home, it was time for a change, and Jane relocated to Bali joining MJB Hoteliers as Director of Operations. Over the next seven years she broadened her knowledge and experience across all aspects of the hospitality industry providing consultancy services in F&B design, project management, menu development, training and operations oversight.
In 2018 Jane created FOCUS on Hospitality, providing personalized hospitality solutions for new and existing businesses across Asia and Australia.
Paolo Randone
Director of Operations & Development
Paolo, an Italian national, brings over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Having started his career in Europe, he moved to Asia in 1992, where he has since worked across Indonesia, Korea, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Singapore. Paolo has held key roles with prestigious international luxury brands, including Mandarin Oriental, Sheraton, Pan Pacific and Dusit. Before joining MJB Hoteliers and Sojourn Management in 2021, he served as the General Manager of Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta under Travel and Leisure Co management.

Known for his strong operational expertise and hands-on approach, Paolo is dedicated to building cohesive teams that achieve exceptional results. He has a proven track record in developing pre-opening strategies, innovative F&B concepts, and nurturing client relationships. As a certified health and nutrition life coach, Paolo also brings a unique perspective to wellness within the industry. A plantbased triathlete, he actively competes in Ironman events and various running and swimming races. Fluent in English, French, Bahasa Indonesia and Italian, Paolo combines global insights with a commitment to excellence in hospitality.
Rosmalia Hardman
Director of Operations & Development
Rosmalia has 40+ years of hospitality experience across Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Middle East, with responsibilities ranging from country operations to property management; regional and corporate revenue, marketing and sales; and project management.
She has extensive experience in hospitality start-ups from city hotels and retreats to luxury lifestyle integrated resorts; with a portfolio that covers development and management of restaurants, bars, marina, villas & private residences, golf course, ski resort, sports club, yacht club, golf & country club, snow sports academy, wellness centre, dive centre, meetings and convention facilities.

Rosmalia is Singaporean, and has held senior leadership positions at Jumeirah, W Hotels and The Luxury Collection, Mandarin Oriental, Melia Hotels, The Fullerton, Pan Pacific and Kempinski Hotels. She was Senior Vice President Marketing for Melco China Resorts, and was the former Chief Marketing Officer at PT. Lippo Karawaci Tbk. Prior to joining MJB Hoteliers and Sojourn Management, Rosmalia was Director of Revenue, Sales & Marketing Asia-Pacific at Wyndham Destinations, now Travel and Leisure Co.
She serves as board member of The Learning Farm, a Boston-based non-profit organization for vulnerable youth, and is an elected international board member of Aidhub.org, an Australian based non-profit organisation that provides a global technology platform for managing aid and non-profit programs.
Simon Dornan
Director of Operations & Development MJB Hoteliers & Director – sandBOX Hospitality
Simon’s career spans over 30 years, beginning his career in the culinary world before transitioning into management roles. His early career saw him developing his skills as a Chef at prestigious establishments that included Ritz-Carlton and Sheraton Luxury Collection, eventually moving into leadership roles as an Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director. With a deep understanding of operational management, Simon’s expertise broadened as he took on General Manager roles at Le Méridien Bali, Capella Ubud and Kimpton Naranta Bali. In these positions, he was responsible for launching these resorts, overseeing procurement, recruitment and branding, as well as implementing sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly practices. He is known for crafting immersive guest experiences and unique property narratives, which reflect his innovative approach to both design and operational strategies.

His passion for sustainability and green initiatives grew throughout his career, becoming a core focus in his role as Area General Manager for IHG’s luxury and lifestyle estate in Indonesia. His efforts not only drive profitability and market dominance for each property, but also ensure long-term value for owners through sustainable practices that benefit local communities.
In 2024, he founded sandBOX Hospitality, where he now leads the development of boutique hotels, resorts and dining establishments, with a focus on cutting-edgeconcepts, sustainability and talent nurturing. Through sandBOX, Simon continues to shape transformative guest experiences while building lasting connections with local cultures and fostering strategic partnerships within the industry.
Djinaldi Gosana
Director of Operations
Djinaldi began his hospitality career 30 years ago as a trainee at the Caravelle Hotel in Germany. Over the years, he has built a diverse career, accumulating extensive experience in operational roles at renowned hotels and resorts. His leadership journey includes serving as General Manager at esteemed properties such as Hotel Rama Beach, Kamandalu Resort & Spa, and The Patra Bali Resort & Villas.

Djinaldi has also held significant positions as Executive Director at both the Bali Hotels Association and the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Board, where he played a vital role in advancing the Indonesian hospitality industry. Today he draws on his wealth of expertise in hotel management, operations and strategic leadership to drive improvements in service quality, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction across MJB Hoteliers and Sojourn Management’s partners.
Timbul Slamet Effendi
Head of Engineering & Projects
With over two decades of expertise in hotel engineering and project management, Tim brings a strong background to MJB Hoteliers and Sojourn Management in overseeing engineering operations and pre-opening projects, having previously served as Director of Engineering at Sheraton Surabaya Hotel and Tower and as Opening Chief Engineer at Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali.

Christian Abraham

Christian began his financial career with Mazaro Group Hospitality in 2015, focusing on financial management, accounting and cost analysis. He advanced through roles that included Internal Auditor, Financial Consultant and Financial Controller, before becoming CFO at PT Boga Rezeki Optima, where he led financial strategy and oversaw tax compliance.
